Shiveluch ash clouds - May 5 2012

Shiveluch clouds at 14:59, 16:40 and 17:39 UTC from brightness temperature difference using AVHRR data. This is the larger Kamchatka sector covering a larger portion of the North Pacific. Examining the data it looks like two separate ash clouds occurred.

By 17:39 UTC the cloud is 957 km and bearing 127 degrees from the volcano.


At 16:40 UTC, MIR at the volcano is 35.24 C, with a background of -5.68 C so the MIR is 40.92 C elevated above the background
