Elevated thermal signals from Cleveland Volcano, June 23, 2012

Elevated brightness temperatures from both AVHRR and MODIS MIR data seen overnight from Cleveland Volcano. Some geo-location error so 'hot' pixels offset from volcano summit. In MODIS pass, edge of swath is evident (hence black region)

Time Averaged Effusion rate = 2.7 - 3.0 m3/s
MIR signals up to 40 C above background (note this is averaged temperature of a 1.1 kmpixel)
