Webcam incandescence and elevated thermal signals in satellite data continue from Tolbachik, December 18 2012

Overnight webcam images show incandescence and 'lighting' up of the plumes from the activity at Tolbachik volcano, see below.

Satellite data in both Mid and thermal infrared show elevated surface temperatures from the ongoing activity at Tolbachik volcano. Below are just an example of the data from past 24 hours. Shown is the sector data for the Kamchatka Peninsula as well as 40 x 40 region centered on the volcano.
