Analysis of NASA ASTER view of Tolbachik volcano from Feb 14, 2013

This is a snapshot of the NASA ASTER data collected of the Tolbachik activity on February 14, 2013 at 00:29 UTC.


Thermal infrared image from Feb 14, 2013 at 00:29 UTC. Note the thermal signature from the hot target and the color scale shows this as 'white'. Likely plume emanating off to the top-right of the image, i.e. north-east direction.


Visible - Near infrared color composite of the same ASTER pass at 00:29 UTC on Feb
 14, 2013. Here the hot targets come out as 'black' with the plume-like feature to the north-east seen as 'white' and has a likely high water content.
