Shiveluch volcano, LANDSAT 8, March 13, 2014 00:15 UTC

LANDSAT 8 was able to capture the ongoing activity from Shiveluch volcano on March 13, 2014, at 00:15 UTC. Below is a RGB of Bands 3, 2 and 1, displayed in Google Earth. Data came from http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/

Below is the Band 11 data, 11 - 12 microns, showing in the TIR the signals from the dome.

Luckily, two of the webcams were also able to see the activity. Note as it is local daytime, then there is the 'steaming' of the dome visible. The thermal signal is not seen in the daytime data.
