Sulfur dioxide from Pavlof volcano, June 4 - 5 2014

There has been some great Sulfur dioxide (SO2) data collected from the OMPS and OMI satellites of the clouds emitted from Pavlof volcano.




Below is processed data using OMI plot software, thanks to Simon Carn for the use of the software.

June 4, 2014


5 km SO2 mass: 6.004 kt; Area: 80510 km2; SO2 max: 14.32 DU at lon: -157.07 lat: 54.71

June 5, 2014


5 km SO2 mass: 2.325 kt; Area: 51301 km2; SO2 max: 3.67 DU at lon: -174.58 lat: 54.06
