LANDSAT-8 captured the activity at Zhupanovsky Volcano, July 10 2014 00:21 UTC. As this was local daytime and fairly clear conditions, the visible and IR channels captured the ash plume and cloud from the volcano. Also the Panchromatic Band 8 at 10 m shows the plume drifting off to the ESE as well.
Thanks to Dmitry Melnikov for posting on facebook and informing me of the good conditions from the LANDSAT-8 overpass.
