MODIS captured Calbuco volcanic plume and fallout on location landscape, April 24, 2015 15:05 UTC

The 15:05 UTC overpass with the NASA MODIS sensor captured the plume from Calbuco volcano on April 24, 2015. Below is a RGB composite of the 250 m reflectance data. The top image was uploaded to Google Maps Engine, and then displayed in Google Earth Engine. The resultant data was loaded into Google Earth Pro, see bottom image to map out the local roads, airports and population centers.
