Presented here are two views of Raung Volcano from the LANDSAT-8 sensor. One on July 11, 2015 at 02:29 UTC and one 16 days earlier on June 25, 2015.
The volcano started to erupt around July 2, 2015 (http://volcano.si.edu/volcano.cfm?vn=263340). The LANDSAT RGB data from June 25, 2015 shows clear evidence of surface material one week before the start of the new activity.
There is more data from June 9 and May 24 and i will continue to examine this data. Also ALI/HYPERION captured the activity on June 23, 2015.
