Karymsky Volcano, ASTER data from 11:06 UTC March 11, 2014. Signal at 93C in TIR.

Karymsky volcano as seen in ASTER data from 11:06 UTC, March 11 2014. This is the TIR data, converted to temperature using the emissivity normalization from the TIR channels. Image shows overlay within Google Earth.

Thermal signals from Karymsky are at 93oC for the 90m x 90m pixel at the summit. Note that the lake at Maly Semiachik shows elevated temperatures. Here it is 6oC, with background of -21oC, so likely lake is ice free and hence has a warmer surface relative to the surrounding.
