LANDSAT-8 was able to provide the view below of the Holuhraun Fissure on October 15, 2014 at 12:33 UTC. This images is a RGB composite of the LANDSAT channels, 7, 6 and 5. Note the ability to see the complete flow to the eastern edge, the hotter portions in the middle and the most active region the west that is also covered by the steaming, white in image below.

Analysis of the infrared data shows the flow as detected by LANDSAT-8 to be around 55 km2.
